2011 Turkey Case: Statement by Benyamin Gholizadeh

Benyamin Gholizadeh: In 2011, I was heading to the United States when alleged Iranian Ministry of Intelligence agents stopped me from leaving Turkey.

In a video at 0:49 they say in Farsi: “We will do everything to prevent you from leaving Turkey for the rest of your life. Stay here until you die and rot.”

In this case, chenoor alizadeh, together with an official interpreter from the Çankırı police foreign branch, allegedly tried to fabricate a rape case against me. Without CCTV at my home, I could have faced 26 years in prison.

Chenoor Alizadeh is currently in Canada and reportedly received asylum linked to Iran, despite no visible political activity online. It is also claimed Canada has hosted regime-linked individuals.

Additionally, two interpreter brothers remain in Turkey, granted international protection and working as Farsi interpreters in sensitive security institutions, despite no public political opposition to the Iranian government.
